I recently signed the “AI Craftspeople Guild Manifesto“ and would like to invite my professional network to considering doing the same.
From my point of view, the software development profession urgently needs to make sure that its professional input related to „AI technology“ is discussed and formulated in a constructive way.

I believe that the wide-ranging and disruptive effects of „AI“, that are clearly discernible in the year of 2026, make this path forward the direction to choose. Some indicators:
- Uwe Friedrichsen’s (CTO codecentric AG) recent blogposts on the topic of AI
- Baldur Bjarnason: „Winning the wrong game”
- Baldur Bjarnason’s „The Intelligence Illusion“ (book)
- Capital.de: “AI is becoming a problem for junior applicants“ (German)
- Heise.de: “AI is replacing junior positions: The price companies pay for their cost-saving measures“ (German)
- Deutschlandfunk: „Chaos Computer Club’s 39C3“ (German)
- Jonathan Blow: “Preventing the collapse of civilization“
(… do NOT be distracted by the click-bait title, a talk well worth watching) - …
And yes: I am still a firm believer that the term „AI“, in context of what we are currently seeing, is a marketing-induced misnomer (also see my „Current Hype“-related „Thoughts on (Modern? Software Development“ slides).
Here are some recent resources related to the endeavor:
